Well, here it is ... our new home!  Because we were beginning to get panicked about finding a place to live in New York, we decided to send Derek to search for housing.  He only had three days out there, so we did a lot of praying that it would all work out.  It was a very stressful trip, no vacationing! :,(  But in the last hours before his plane left, we found this apartment and we got approved!  The process for leasing an apartment out there is insane ... they won't lease to you unless you make forty times the amount of your rent and New York rent is not cheap!  You can get a co-signer, but they have to make eighty times!  Luckily, they let us combine two co-signers' income and pay three months up front and then they would approve us.  WHEW!  Thank you to our Dad's who were willing to be our co-signers, we owe you big time.  Now you have something to hold over our heads.  Uh oh.  Anyway, despite how stressful it was, we really were blessed to have it all work out and we feel really good about it.  Thanks to all of you who sent us info and helps about finding housing or people to contact it really helped us figure out the process and the areas.

Bear Lake 2008

Our annual Bear Lake trip with the Anderson Family.  Because we won't be able to make it next year, we decided that we should make the most of this year's Bear Lake trip.  So we took nearly the whole week off of work and spent tuesday through saturday on the lake!  We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of food and got some burns.  A few of the major highlights were meeting Cole Cottle our new nephew for the first time and playing "Tortisbee" a game that Alicia and Tara made up on the spot (and Darin named).  It was pretty hilarious.  We had to throw the tortilla like a frisbee and try and get in the middle of the target.  Each ring had different point values.  It was harder than you think!  We had eaten tortillas for half of our meals and had plenty of leftovers so we had to do something productive with them!
